CHIEF FUTURIST, GROUP 11
Roxane Googin is an authority on macroeconomic technology trends. In August 2020 she stepped into the role of Chief Futurist of Group 11, one of Silicon Valley’s most sought after FinTech investors.
Prior to joining Group 11 Roxane was editor of the High Tech Observer, a long-running invite-only publication read by institutional portfolio managers focused on the technology sector.
Roxane’s research focuses on inter-modal competition between historically disparate economic models forced into direct competition by technological change, as these are the most disruptive and meaningful to multi-billion dollar portfolios over time.
Her bold predictions included the smooth continuation of the “Goldilocks Economy” through the 1990s, the internet bubble demise in September 2000, and the dawn of a new age driven by the mobile cloud in May 2002, as outlined in her much acclaimed note “Six Simultaneous Equations.” In 2016 she introduced the Street to the concept of AI and GPU computing.
Roxane Googin has a BS-EE from the University of Tennessee, and an MBA from the University of Virginia. In addition to engineering experience in development and manufacturing, Roxane has experienced finance from the cradle to the grave: from venture capital, through equity analysis, to term and finally to asset-based lending. She uses her broad experience to envision the disruptions that are bound to come our way.
Group 11 invests in revolutionary software companies that are redrawing the landscape of the financial services industry. As FinTech continues to gain momentum and to disrupt the traditional industry value chain, Group 11 has positioned itself as a partner of choice to provide capital and guidance to entrepreneurs that are creating the world’s next generation of financial services industry leaders.
Since its inception, the firm has deployed over $550 million in some of Silicon Valley’s most prominent and disruptive financial technology companies, including Tipalti, TripActions, Next Insurance, Papaya Global, HomeLight, Sunbit, Masterschool, EquityBee, Venn, and Lili to name a few.
